Fawn Lane Shetland Sheepdogs started as but a dream, then developed into a seed and eventually grew into a reality. I can attribute my love of shelties to receiving one for my birthday when I was only 2 years old. He was sable & white, so of course I named him Lassie.

 

Through the years I was never without a sheltie and received my heart dog as a gift when I was 10 years old. I competed in lots of agility, obedience and junior showmanship through 4-H, as well as AKC events. Now, I don't want to brag but, we were pretty good! I won multiple awards over those years. I happened to have a wonderful mentor who was my 4H leader as well. She just so happened to raise shelties and border collies. It was luck I guess...maybe fate but, she fostered a lot of love between myself and this breed.

 

I grew older and had children, started a career-always having a sheltie around. In 2017 I began researching AKC events and breeders in my area and even not in my area. My focus was to pick back up where I left off, to once again pursue this journey which really fills my heart and means so much to me. Founding your own line and starting from the ground up is a lot of work...and heartache. I have acquired puppies and rehomed them when they didn't fit my needs/wants in a foundation dog- whether that's temperament, ect. So eventually we ended up with Kash and Vex and we literally hit the jackpot when it comes to behavior and temperament. What sweethearts. So attentive, behaved and loving. I often joke that Kash is a golden retriever stuck in a sheltie's body (lol)

 

So, as Fawn Lane Shetland Sheepdogs continues to grow we'd like you to know that we are striving to grow and learn continuously as well.
